Our current offerings include:
Default Folder - Shareware $25
Default Folder is a control panel that enhances the standard Open and Save dialogs to give you fast access to folders you use frequently and allows you to perform operations you would otherwise have to do in the Finder or with another application.
As its name implies, Default Folder lets you set up default folders for applications you use often. Like the commercial products Directory Assistance and SuperBoomerang, it also provides pop-up menus in Open and Save dialogs for navigating between folders and disks and performing file management functions.
Default Folder's enhancements to file dialogs include:
- A menu that keeps track of folders you have used recently.
- A menu to which you can permanently add folders you use frequently.
- A "rebound" feature which reselects the last file you chose.
- A "Get Info" command which allows you to rename files, change
their type and creator, and modify Finder attributes.
- A command to move files and folders to the trash.
- A menu that displays the amount of free space on all disks and
allows you to switch between them.
Default Folder distinguishes itself from similar utilities by providing essential enhancements to Open and Save dialogs with a minimum of memory and processor overhead, and a careful vigilance toward maintaining compatibility with other applications and system enhancements.
Sleeper - Shareware $20
Sleeper is a control panel for desktop Macs that dims the screen and spins down SCSI disk drives after periods of inactivity. This reduces power consumption and quiets your Mac when it's not in use. Separate "sleep" times can be set for the screen saver and disk spin-down, and a hotkey is available for putting your Mac to sleep on demand.
AutoLaunch - Shareware $15
AutoLaunch is a screen saver "engine" that launches an application after your Macintosh has been idle for a specified amount of time. It's great for running stand-alone MacroMedia Director movies as screen savers, executing AppleScript applets during idle time, restarting demos after a person walks away from an in-store Mac, and the like.
Volume licenses and customization are available for those who wish to redistribute AutoLaunch with their screen saver application.
Floppy Default - Shareware $10
Floppy Default is a system extension that encourages users to save their files on a floppy disk, and warns them of dire consequences if they don't. Floppy Default causes all Open and Save dialogs to initially display the contents of a floppy disk if one is present, or a predetermined folder on the hard disk or a file server if not. This is particularly useful in networked environments where users don't have a folder on a hard disk where they can safely store their files.
IconWrap II - Freeware
IconWrap II is an extension that makes sure the startup icons for your system extensions and control panels march across the screen in nice orderly rows. Mac system extensions follow a set of de facto standards for displaying their startup icons, but some are a little less capable than others. IconWrap helps them position themselves properly.
